Why the TTU-720 Trailer Tracker Isn’t Worth The Money

  • The TTU-720 does not contain a rechargeable battery. After a couple years of use, you will need to contact your tracking company and buy another expensive battery. Your trailer tracking device should have a rechargeable battery or should have a battery that you can purchase at any store.

  • If you are investing in a GPS tracking device for your trailer, then you need the ability to be alerted and to locate the trailer immediately.  The TTU-720 only updates it’s location once or twice per day.  If your trailer is stolen, you will need to wait until midnight (or the scheduled checkin time) to find the location of your trailer.  If it’s on the move, it will be near impossible to track and recover.  When choosing a GPS tracking device, you need to choose one that updates it’s location more frequently.

  • The size of your tracking device can also be an extremely important decision maker.  Not only does your tracker need to perform, it also needs to be easy to hide.  The TTU-720 is a huge 10.5″ long and weighs almost 2 lbs.  This is way too big to hide on your average trailer or asset.
